On 18″X24″ paper drawn with color pencil, graphite pencil, ink and marker. Setup time before color was about 1.5 hours. Coloring and detail ranged from 2-4 hours depending on the difficulty. All in all I’m proud my client was happy with the results. Thanks for the challenge! 🙂
Sorry for not posting anything in a while. I had to keep the project I’ve been working on for the past couple months a secret. I think it’s close enough to August 11th (bachelor party date). The friend of 10+ years I made this for loves video games, card games and board games to the max. He has a lot of the consoles and many many games and has basically become an avid collector. The one game he has yet to obtain is the one I created. LETS PLAY!
10 characters were made: Mario, Spyro, Kirby, Splatoon, Dig Dug, Pikachu, Cactuar, Bomberman, Donkey Kong and Link. The aim was to make a variety using different games. Ones I know he enjoys. I used construction paper, recycled paper, glue, color pencil and ink to create each piece. All of which were referenced from a photo on my phone. Lets play shall we!?
Thanks for stopping by :). I hope this game makes sense and isn’t too boring. Tell me what you think?
It all started with some modeling practice. Cowboy modeling practice to be exact partner. I wanted to incorporate this image in my 5.5″X8.5″ sketchbook. So I used grid method to piece together this puzzle. Altered the image to better accommodate my sketchbook and added lines using Photoshop. Aside from the eyes looking like demon eyes I think the grid method was a success.
Welcome to Rosa Aurora! Every year all the roses de-petal and shoot straight to the sky reaching for the stars. Some believe it is due to the overwhelming environment in which they reside in; city folk are too noisy and bright causing the stars to disappear. Others believe it is because they are fed up with being stuck to the ground so they quit and decided to take to the sky. I’m here to tell you that both are somewhat true.
They take to the sky to see the stars better, they re-petal themselves farther away from the light so they can enjoy the starlight view. They are called moonlight roses and are the rarest to find once they de-petal. Also they are the hardest to capture since they have a mind of their own. If you come across one enjoy the view and don’t disrupt its journey. They wither away too easily.
I tried to capture as much a I could in this acrylic painting to emulate such a wondrous place. The cool wind bustling through your hair and body rising goosebumps. Smell that fresh cut grass followed by rain then roses and a hint of strawberry. Mmm that strawberry air tastes so scrumptious. Phew-Cha-Cha is the sound they make, kind of like the ruffling sound of cheerleader pompoms combined with whistling.
How do you get to Rosa Aurora? You might be wondering. Well first off the tickets there are extremely cheap. It’s insane! For however much you charge yourself to close each eye. It takes two closed eyes to imagine this place. Good luck in your travels! Weather forecast is unknown. Overthinking lightning clouds may damage your transition so don’t think just feel.
Thanks for joining me on this journey to Rosa Aurora! I hope you enjoy your stay and become less stressed.
Working with green screen, editing software and public speaking are my weaknesses by getting familiar with my weaknesses I can make them my strengths. Drawing, Photoshop and video quality are more in my comfort zone which gives me the opportunity to keep improving and to have fun.
Feel free to let me know what you think. I’m learning what to do by doing it, if its wrong then it’s wrong I’ll learn from the mistake and make it less wrong. Its an experience worth trying.
Welcome to a new year folks! 2018 promises so many good and bad things! Looking forward to every moment. Woo! Sorry for the lack of keeping in touch. Between switching positions at work, moving, birthdays and vacations. I still kept up with drawing:
15 minute breaks at work, over thoughtfulness and the inability to sit still are the results of the above drawings. Some of these were fun to think about:
Drawing on napkins, scratch paper and sometimes toilet paper were the materials used at work. Don’t get me wrong. I work my butt off at work, which is why I have this need to draw when I’m on my breaks. To escape. To recharge. To win. Doing this has kept me insane, which is what I prefer. Recently I have been getting more in depth with some drawings:
Staying on course. Adding a new little fun in each piece. Dogs that like saying “dawg”. Horses that chew bubblegum. Blue eyes like the sky. Bear harness for when they fall out of trees.
Thanks for your patience with my long break. 2018 here we come! 😀
This month 4 people and 2 animal portraits were made. Totaling out to be 7 people and 3 animals. I will continue to make portraits probably forever. Who knows you might be next!?! People make this world a less lonely place. Same goes for animals. Why not try and connect as much as possible? Make one big giant net. Thanks for the inspiration!
As April approaches my work will be shifting around from painting to drawing to mixed media to different dreamscapes. It’s something Salvador Dali was able to accomplish very well in creating these dreamlike pieces. I have quite a few detailed dreams I’d like to share. “Dreaming in April” will be next months title.
